just came from ford dealer where truck is getting new heads, gaskets and head studs. the diesel tech. said that my truck was # 5 for this yr. with blown head gaskets. he stated that all the trucks were used for towing. FORD said if i used arp studs that i could jeopardize the remaining 60k warranty.
I run and sct X3 and have two race tunes, and a couple of tow tunes, and have never gone over 1200 degrees with either floored. I have stock exhaust except for muffler delete. My temps are pre-turbo as well. Yours seems too high.
wouldnt the muffler delete make the difference in the egt's. and im not worried about the warranty as I drive about 3-4k a mounth sometimes more or less. I have had my truck for just over two years know and already have 90k miles. but on that subject one time when I took my truck for warranty I asked what miles it covered. They told me that it was only good for 45k.
I suppose the muffler delete could make the difference. I have 112K on mine, and just spent 1559.00 on it day before yesterday on an injector, turbo cleaning, and coolant flush.
Your warranty on the motor should be good to 100k.
