Thumbs up TS performance or DP performance Chip?

I currently run a bully dog downloader on the highest setting it has I can feel an ok improvement, but there is no smoke and with a stock intake and stock exhaust I would expect a lot of smoke. So I was wondering what you guy's opinion are on these two chips. Honestly I don’t care about smoke its cool and all but it represents a poor tune in air/fuel in my opinion. But I just want the best performance out of my truck.. I am installing things one at a time these are the things I currently have in my garage that need to be installed

5 inch full BD exhaust

Snow Performance stage 3 boost cooler

Propane injection with remote filler

Performance wastegate actuator

Performance compressor wheel

Also I have gauges installed and was wondering what my limit should be on the EGT (probe installed post turbo)

I am new here so if I messed up any edicate please let me know!

Thanks!

-Dave

also i want to add that with the BD d-loader the sound my engine makes is a lot louder at 60%+ throttle than it was with stock , but i still dont feel that much of a difference.

Welcome to FTE. With your list of mods I would recommend a DP chip. A TS unit will not be custom burned for your situation.

Pretty much. You should call them and discuss it. I don't have their number at hand but someone will provide it if you cannot find it.

Dzzavid welcome to FTE. You have come to the right place to get things done right. With your propane and methanol injection (use windshield washer fluid ) DP Tuner can custom burn files for propane and methanol. A TS chip will not. I had a Ts chip (and i still have it on the counter, its For sale), and now i run a DP Tuner chip. To sum it up i won't ever go back to that TS performance chip. The power is so much smoother, and i can guarantee that DP Tuner's "80 Economy" tune is stronger than TS performance's 140 tune. I have a picture of my truck on the dyno on 140 (with TS chip) and it has some visible smoke, but i guarantee that Jody's 140 Extreme tune will blow it away. The transmission tuning is alot better too. He can also burn nice tunes such as a custom Hi-idle, Lope idle, and "no-start" as a theft deterrant.(take the switch fob with you)

If you already bought the propane and methanol kits that is OK go an install them, however if you are still at the stage of "thinking" about buying them, then i would opt for a larger exhaust housing for your turbocharger, and i would get an intake too. A cheap and efficient and very well-filtering type of filter that alot of FTE members, me included run a "6637" or "Homemade Tymar filter", its just a very oversized paper element that works great. Lots of intake noise and turbo whistle if that is what you like. Get it at Napa part 6637 for $45, or www.fleetfilter.com part 46637 for $20 or so. It slips right on your stock intake boot.

I would also recommend getting some sort of transmission enhancement, by way of a BTS valve body. www.brianstruckshop.com. Tell jody when you order your chip that you will be getting a BTS valve body, and he can go fancier with the transmission tuning and make it even better. I have one built for my 37" tires i was running before the ticket, and it did much better shifting than the "off-the-shelf" sonnax/tricumulator springs i had before.

Would you like to buy a second one to have as a spare? I'll sell it cheaper than a crack dealer.

Well you get what you pay for, sure you can do that, but you will have to disassemble your valve body most likely. The BTS unit is CUSTOM made to your specs, and even to the chip. How custom is the BD unit? "Fits 99-04 4R100"

With the list of mods or parts in your garage. I highly recommend start saving for a BTS tranny. that much power through it and it wont be long before it croaks. I could keep going but all that I have to say has already been said.

Nope. Unless I can stack them which I cannot. I will simply watch your results. I hope all is good in cinderella land.
