What do you prefer?

This applies to all years/ models of trucks also. I'm curious which way everyone likes their body style, without or without bumpers?. So vote! I voted for bumpers front and rear, only because that's the way my truck is set up. Not sure what it would look like without any bumpers at all?

I voted for original bumpers front and rear but I need to qualify that a little bit. Since most of the time rear bumpers were optional and in alot of cases dealer added items the rear bumpers can be most anything.

In my case I'm running a late model chrome step bumper from a mid sized truck that I picked up a wrecking yard for $20.

I've seen some trucks that look great without bumpers. To me, its a bit of a risk

I too voted for the original bumpers front and rear, but I really don't care for the original bumper that I am running now. Someday when I hit the lottery, I will have both front and rear polished stainless bumpers

I voted for bumpers, but I'd want to shorten the rear bumper to match the width of the bed, and tuck both bumpers close to the body. I like them to look original with all the emblems and bumpers, just LOWER to the ground

I like the bumperless look, with smooth roll pans, front and rear, so that's what I voted for. For my own truck, though, it'll be painted steel bumpers to start with, then chrome front and rear when I can afford the upgrade.

I voted for original bumpers front only even though I have bumpers front and rear. My truck originally did not have a rear bumper, but when I got the truck painted I put an NOS rear bumper on. I did want a little rear end bump turn into a major rear end crash. I like the look of these trucks both with and without rear bumpers.

One more note: you should have had another category for original style chrome bumpers, as the 53-56 truck did not have chrome bumpers.... ah the light side!

I understand what your saying. When I state original, I'm basically meaning the original style whether it's chrome or not. I just wanted to get an idea of what everyone liked since so many truck have different styles, some with bumpers and some without. I could of got crazy with categories like stock, non stock, stainless, chrome, painted, you get the idea. I wanted a simple poll, makes it a little less confusing. I find the voting numbers pretty interesting so far.

I also like the front and rear stock bumpers, I have both just not installed yet, maybe in another 8 years?
I will probably just leave them in black paint.

I voted original bumpers front and rear. I like the tucked look close to the body in either chrome or stainless.

I am putting chrome bumpers on the front and rear of my pickup, I personelly like the bumper look, painted for the stockers and chrome for the modified boys.

I wouldn't leave my driveway without front and rear bumpers of some kind. In style or not they are a necessary safety item...

Talking Bumpers...

Chrome...Stainless...Painted...Annodized...whateve r...

The original design STILL looks BEST in MY eyes on

the '56 Custom Cab, weather it's slammed or not, due to it's

simplicity & clean lines...it's just sweet & maybe waitin' for a couple

"personal" touches...of course this is just my opinion after a 25-year

automotive design career-shipped overseas...

I like tucked original style front and rear on the panel. I saw pics of a 56 pickup with an El Camino rear bumper (with the built in taillights in the bumper) that fit and looked like it grew there. If I had a pickup that would be they way I'd go.
