small 6 banger casting info??

small 6 banger casting info??
Hi,
Can someone identify my son's inline six from the following letters and numbers casted into the block found on the passenger side rear, forward of the starter. They are as follows:
D8BE
6015GE
We're trying to get this 6 banger running in his 1962 Ranchero.
It doesn't seem like this the original engine, & I'm sure it isnt. It has a single bbl carb with the following numbers:
6R
3806
B
any help would be appreciated.

D = 1970s
8 = year, thus 1978
B = product line, in 1978 this was Fairmont.
E = parts line, engine in this case
6015 says engine tag or id
I can't tell the rest as my sources don't say. Numberdummy knows all and may be by later. Links I checked are at the top of the sbf forums, and:

Now, if this is from a '78 Fair-mount, the brochures and Wikipedia say it had a 200:
Auto Brochure
So, if your engine has the intake cast into the head, it's 99 44/100 % certain to be a 200.
It should have the old "6 cylinder" bell pattern and bolt right up or w/o too much trauma to the Ranchero.
