I posted this on another 460 board, and the information I got was worse than useless, so I am tryin g it here. I had a 460 built. The motor is externally balance. I had the crank pulley, but had to search for a water pump pulley. I have been through 3 water pump pulleys, with none of them working. The crank pulley is 8 inch diameter. The first pump pulley was 7 inch in diameter, and it hits the crank pulley (overlaps). The second one, the bolt holes did ot line up. The 3rd one came from and internally balance motor, and the pump snout hole was too small. I figure to make this work, I either need a matched set of pulleys, which I've been unable to find, or a water pump pulley about 6 inches or less in diameter with a 3/4 inch snout hole. Any other ideas? I want to go with power steering cause my wife will be driving this thing, so aftermarket is probably out.
This can be a nightmare been there a few times. Your best bet is to find a complete setup that you can get. There seems to be alot of different pulleys for different vehichles and options. I have drilled the center hole bigger on the waterpump pulley.
What kind of tuck or car is the motor in?
The motor found its new home in a 76 F100. According to Ford racing, I need a water pump pulley from a mid 702 passenger car 460. Every motor i've found in junk yards has the cracnk pulley, but no upper pulley. Expecting a call back on monday from a resource. If not, I may have to buy a set of Marches.

Mid 1970's car w/p pulley there are at least 12.
How many sheeves do you need? One or two? sheeves = grooves for belts.
1970's car: Smallest diameter for a single sheeve pulley is 6" Other diameters's are: 6 1/8" / 6 3/8" / 6 61/64" / 7"
5 41/64" = 1969/72 LTD 429.
These pulleys fit other engines besides 429/460's.
The motor is from a 69 passenger car, but the crank pulley that I have is from a mid 70s, as well as the PS and Alt brackets. (According to Ford Racing).
The motor is a C9VE-B
The Crank Pulley is DOSE-6312-B
The PS Pulley is DOA?B
The Alt is Summit Racing aftermarket using the mid 70s bracket.
The Ford Racing guys tell me that the Mid 70s piece will work, just a matter of finding one, but like I said I think it will work out Monday. Sounds like a 6" piece is what I need. They overlap just a bit.

6 inch diameter w/p pulley...how many sheeves (pulley grooves) do you need?
D0SZ-8509-B ..2 Sheeve Pulley 6 1/8"
Fits: 1970/76 T-Bird / 1970/78 LTD / 1975/76 F100/350 / 1973/74 Torino and the matching Mercs/Lincolns.
if you can wait for a while i have a 460 out of a mid 70's tbird, one out of a 75 marquis, and a 429 out of a tbird???? that came complete. It is all stuff that i'll never use as i'm using them in pullers (no wp) I can look to see what i got but my stuff is still in storage, hasn't made the move with me yet. mid july i go back to get it.
Thanks Northern 7.3. I think I've go it covered. I need to contact a guy who was ding a local search fo me on Monday. If not. I'll keep you in mind. Thank you again.
I suggest you look another direction - Serpentine.
I put a '90s serpentine belt system on the '86 460 I put into my '66 F-100. The '86 originally had belts and a very complicated bracket system with over 25 parts to it.
The serpentine system uses 2 belts. The one for the alternator/water pump is tightened by adjusting the alternator. The inner one for the water pump, PS pump and A/C is held tight with the tensioner.
I harvested the following:
Brackets - Left and Right brackets (available from Green's if you need replacements) and the alternator bracket.
Pulleys - The '86 crank, PS, water pump, tensioner and alternator pulleys.
A/C - The '86 A/C compressor (not hooked up yet, no A/C for the truck, but needed for the belt to fit. An idler "delete" pulley is available from Ford, often also on Evil Bay.)
Power Steering - A '78 /later PS pump with the plastic body (I have a PS setup on my '66 from a '76 F-150 like your truck. You would have to use a '78/'79 pressure hose. The '92 serpentine pulley fit right on the '78 PS pump.)
Water Pump - The water pump I used is the larger snout type off the '86. I do not know for sure if the serpentine pulley can be centered on the earlier water pump - I rather think it will do so automatically. I believe the serpentine pulley on the earlier smaller snouted pump will line up correctly with everything else.
Fan - I used the larger snouted fan clutch, but I put on a 7-blade fan from a mid-'70s Lincoln 460.
Alternator - I used the '66 alternator, but installed the '92 pulley AND the alternator fan. Fits perfect. The '66 uses a small alternator, so there is extra room under the housing. (I have the larger alternator, and will use it later, but the '86 uses a different wiring harness and an internal regulator, and I haven't had time to wire it in.)
Radiator hose - I used the '70s lower radiator hose, but I used the '86 upper to match the curve to the inlet, to go over the belt.
Smog pump - I didn't use it, and had to try several different sized belts to get the right one to work.
Don't forget the following:
All the bolts.
Inlet - Thermostat housing, as it is canted up to clear the serpentine belt.
Warning: IF you can get a complete setup from a van 460, do it as all the parts will interchange with the truck 460 serpentine system - WITH ONE exception - the A/C-PS pump bracket is different, in order to match the flat pancake style Saginaw PS pump. If your truck should have the flat pancake style Saginaw PS pump already, this would be a better solution anyway.
