Radio Removal

Question---------- How do you remove the stock radio? I have a 94 F350. The factory radio has 4 little holes in the front of the radio that seems to provide access to some spring clips that retain the radio in the dash. I can access the passenger side to push the clips in but the drivers side is nearly impossible to get to. Is there an easier way?

Buy the special tool made for ford radios. I bought mine at Wal-Mart for 2 or 3 dollars. Well worth the money (IMO). You could probably buy them at other stores as well.

If you can not find the special tool for some reason you can take a heavy duty wire coat hanger and use it. Just cut off the long bottom piece then cut it in two. Bend the two pieces in a U shape and use that. Worked for me.

I pounded 4 small finish nails into a board that matched the pattern of the holes. all four clips get released at the same time
