I have a 2001 Escape. I bought the removal tools, I insert them, pull them slightly apart, the radio only slide out 3/4 inch and stops. I have tried prying any way possible, got rough with it, nothing. The side clips are clearing the frame, something is holding it in and I can't find it. Does anyone have ideas?

 

i have an '01 escape too, and the same thing happend to me. last night i was able to finially get the radio out. let me know if you still need help.
