EGR replacement
A friend of mine has a 2005 F150 4.6L and with about 80K on the clock the EGR went bad. She had the EGR replaced at a dealership and it cost her $425 for the EGR and labor and another $70 for the diagnostic scan. Is that a fair price? I don't know much about how much things cost on these trucks and I'm just trying to figure out if she got hosed on the repair. Any replies are appreciated.

The shop I work at would have charged around 325 for it...An hour for the diagnostics, (to make sure that's ALL that's causing the check engine light) then the price for the part, and 1/2 hour for labor....If you can dio one without a scan tool, feel free.
