Early '99 (6/98) - Truck quit like flipping a switch. Suspected Cam Position Sensor. Replaced CPS, no joy. Ran codes, got 340 (CPS failure). Changed to another CPS, no start, ran codes, got 340 again (CPS fault). Good on oil & fuel pressure, cranks fine.
At this point, suspect wiring (piched, shorted, broken, burned, etc) or PCM.
We've done a lot of work in and around the harnesses, e.g. multiple change-outs of I/C pipes, boots, etc; changed out the turbo twice; new glow plugs; new harnesses, 6.0L cooler swap, R&R both intakes and reseal...may have knocked something loose? 130K on engine, original CPS (now new), recent oil change, re-torque oil and trans pans bolts, new fuel and air filters, recent install of AFE Stage 2 airbox, SS HPOP crossover, fuel pressure at 70, Magnaflow exhaust - and a myriad of other "little" TLC things.
