its a camaro ifs with a cut up stock frame...idont know if you were thinkin bout layin body or not, but mines got 22's and the tire is within 1in of the top of the bed rail. i dont think 24's will work, unless you put some of those "cheater" tires on there

my stock tires and rims are within 1 inch of 24's, and it lays frame with them. I havent done it with the bed on yet, so i dont know if it will stick out of the bed or not. But i dont plan on running big rims for a while if ever, im going to keep it classic.
I WISH, i would have gone with IFS up front. It would have been the smart thing for me to do. saved me an *** load of money, But at the same time, i kept true to the old ford so thats cool to.

Good idea about keeping it classic. Personally, I generally don't like shiny HUGE rims on these pickups at all. Dragginwagon's is really nice, but I think I would have stayed with the steelies. Either way its sweet.
Have you already purchased all kinds of parts for the twin I-beam setup? If not, and the truck's still sitting all apart, why not look into an IFS setup? Let me tell ya right now, as far as I know, you WON'T be able to lay your rockers down with the twin I-beams.
you know when I first started the build on mine I thought you had to have fancy paint, tons of body work, and lots of money in the vehicle to be "Cool"....since Ive been building mine, Ive come to love a raw custom "in the works"ride...it showcases the owners desire to create their vision of cool. These rides are truely as unique and custom cool as a $50 000 show stopper.
+1 on the classic wheels....im gonna keep steelies or maybe astro supremes...it makes me want to...or need to get back out on my truck..but damn its so hot outside.
are you talkin about layin frame or body? the bed has a lower height than the front end/ hood also. my 22's come up through the fender and over the hood line....(lower line)
i like steelies and i have a set of ol torque thrusts, but honestly im bout burnt on that look. people have really jumped on that bandwagon so to speak.... i have toyed with the idea of gettin a thim whitewall and sandblastin my torques. we'll see

i agree alot with you on the played out factory of factory rims. A lot of the "rat rodder" guys do it.
But, i need to keep with the theme of the car, ive also been looking at hubcaps. either way, its going to be a gold flake steelie, with something on it, beauty ring, center cap, or hub cab. WHo knows. and a white wall.
as far as the beams go.ive already got all the stuff for the beams. SO its going to be on beams thats for sure. I wish i would have done a little more research and done an IFS set up but its to late now and no big deal really.
the whole thing should, in theory lay frame. and that will be good enough for me for this build. once things thing is done im going to build an outrageous ole dodge sweptside short bed ive been sketching out plans for. few more weeks on this thing, ill have photos for you guys tomorow.
I personally would like to see more slammed Slicks here. I'd like to drop my own truck, but I won't give up my straight axle. I could put flowers in the bed and park it in my front yard when I wasn't driving it!
ive been running steelies forever..never could afford astros..had one pair of et knock offs that never quite made it to a 57 ranchero i had about 6 years ago.....i personally cant stray away from what i like just because others are now make it a trend..never been a big wheel guy myself..just me ...also i gave up trying to please others and break trends about 2 seconds after i decide i like something...our trucks our decisions...i like them low..ive seen the trends come and go..with bikes and hotrods...ive never been into vw's or mini trucking or muscle cars.me personally always old fords..model ts - old f100...but those things and the "ratrod thing" have all had theyre impact..some good..some bad....we just got to build 'em like we like 'em..for me nothing else matters.

nicely put. And im not even a ford guy really. im not really an anything guy. I just think the slicks have great body lines. as far as motors go though, i prefer chevys, cheaper to build in my experience.
I'm not a Ford guy either. I'll mess around with anything! I love them all, really. The only reason why I even have my '64 F100 is because I found it in my Dad's old textiles factory and dragged it home for free...
And du$ty, that's the right attitude. Do what you want and enjoy it.
oh i totally agree with you guys, build what suits you! i do what i like and damn the rest. i was just givin my own insight on it. i do think steelies work on some vehicles, and you theme does seem to fit this builds bill. when i first started this build i was gunna paint the truck and put a leather interior in it.... things have changed i really like the raw look of it and have decided to change it up a bit.
plus the big wheels appease the minitrucker in me....

yeah the big wheels are definatly mini trucker thats for sure.
mines going to be gaudy and old schoolish, but thats how i like things.
i was supposed to finish the rest of my 4 link today. But i just got home and its 6. i have to be some where at 7, so no time. BUT, photos tomorow guys.
you guys are alright with me.you guys build your ****..i hate those armchair builders that never do anything..and talk down on everyone else..and i do love Fords..and i must say351 windsors and fe are badass powerplants.but i can appreciate things done diy.
