What part of Tucson are you in. I'm in Colorado now but grew up there and am going back real soon, I would love to come by and check out the project and maybe do a little bench racing. thanks
its central, my shop is and my house is. I live at grant and country club and my shop is on first and fort lowell
The panel work turned out really good, the splice on the cab is something I want to do to all the dents in mine rather than pull them and fill with tofu LOL...
man that looks sick!!! i have a 61 uni i hope one day ill be able to do that also. how much would you charge just to slam it like that?
id charge about 8 grand to do it the way i did. I could do it for about 3-4 grand, if i built a brand new frame for the truck.
to completely do over a f100 slammed, interior, paint, id do it for about 10-12 grand. But that would be getting everything really nice. Im a new shop so i cant charge the 100K that other shops do just because i need to make money to survive on, id rather make a little than overcharge and not make any.
finally i feel like the end is near. first coat of pprimer on the truck to check the body work. i still have a few more days of correcting stuff before i can spray some serious primer/color.
metal finished shaved cowl
another floor picture shows the drop down boxes pretty good
more sheet metal work to my really messed up fender
old and new peice from a fender that was donated by bill who has been the biggest help ever on this project
welded in
nicely metal finished
cab reprimed and guide coated 99% done with the body work on the cab, a few tiny little nicks
cab
shaved dash
and again
and the biggest bitch of them all, the roof was so awful, and still isnt quite perfect, but im tired of it so its done
i post on here for feedback, all you guys who are just looking at the pictures then moseying on, post your thoughts after you look it it only takes a second!
Hey, first off...great work...
secondly, how hard was it to fill in the cowl fins under the windshield?
3rd... what kinda primer..primer/fillers are you using?
4th! the body gaps in the last picture there where the roof meets the cab...
how did you get that line to look so good? I have been contemplating just welding all mine up. even the ones at the rear of the truck by the tail lights.
also, what welding tips can you give a guy whos welding with a Consumer 115/120 Mig Gas/ Electric. I havent tackled any body work yet...and havent welded any automotive... Which wire is the best. and I assume I should use the option with Gas as opposed to just electric?
Also what tricks do you do to when cutting and splicing on new metal to where rot used to be... I have a spot just below the top body line on the bed where the top meets bottom... there are some compound body bends....heres a pic
your truck looks awesome!!!! those wells in the floor boards make me want to make some for my truck, but under the passengers feet for tools or other stuff.
Probally as a new shop he does not have the radius tooling to do it. Takes some radial line development skills to make all them compound curves. I probally will need to tunnell my unis floor and modify the troque box to get as low as i want, we shall see.
I actually am more intrested in the chop happening in the back ground.
I will have to get to Tuscon to see your shop and visit Bill.
