Met Jason Crawford of DFA friday....knowledgeable, straight up, no BS kinda guy.
Purchased CCK & HPX (yes it's HP hose) but I was convinced by Jason and my own experience....EBPV line blowin out at 140k, that it would stand up as well if not better than SS.
Tip's: as the instructions point out you do not have to remove all the bolts/parts listed to install the CCK...only removed turbo intake tubing, serpntine belt, and fuel line bracket. It may have taken longer but it goes in.
A 12 mm ratcheting wrench goes over the fuel port plugs makin life much easier especially on the drivers side back one.
plastic underneath the truck is a good thing....beautiful sunny day right...all windows down.....BIG thunder shower-roll up windows = fuel on the plastic/ground...
Noticed a difference in noise and responsiveness after 15 minute burn in...
BTW the CCK has a port for gauge.....my $0.02... well worth the money.

Reason: error
Mine, like I said, was beta #1 and was at that time called the Cackle-Cure Kit instead of the current title of Cross-Connect Kit. Jason was not including a pressure gauge tap when I got mine, so I just tapped into the back of the fuel filter housing when I installed my under-hood gauge. There's a pic in my gallery.
DFA Cross Connect (aka Cackle Cure) and HP-X Installed
I just had the DFA Cross Connect and HP-X kit installed on my 2002 Excursion with 7.3L yesterday along with the Flex-a-lite electric fan kit.
I just wanted to add my 2 cents that the mods made a huge difference in the reduction of noise from the engine. It is so much smoother now and quieter at all speeds but especially while driving. I am totally pleased.
I need to get some miles on it and see how fuel economy and power are affected. I am also curious to see if it reduces the tendency to throw fuelk pressure codes if set adjust my Edge Juice to up the fuek dekivery into the cylinders.
Yup -- it's a good kit. Nice & quiet. If you haven't done the in-tank mods yet, do those too. Mine has been in for a year now and no leaks. No gauge port here either, but I'll be adding one shortly. Haven't even thought about how to go about it just yet, but I'll just do what Pete did. Then copy Brandon's gauge up by the windshield installation... Very handy!!
gauge PSI ports in 2 spots the red arrows point to..click on the pix to see more..
i put my gauge in the windshield too..but i made a pod for a cleaner look..i didnt want hoses, holes and back side of a gauge to show when standing out side the truck...
