Hey guys i am about to pull the injectors out of my truck. The problem from the scan that we ran down at the G.O.B. shop on the corner aka(my buddies shop) came back that the buzz test was good but cylinder 1 and 6 injectors are bad. So i am here to ask what parts do i need besides the injector harnesses and the valve cover gaskets do i need.
O and btw this is happening mon. and the injectors go off to Jim at Rosewood for stage one injection on tues.
Please any immediate info would be great. Thanks guys
Did i mention i love this forum. You guys are great.
Ford is probably you best bet unless while its apart you can wait for eBay purchases. They are usually much cheaper. Also check the harness connector going to the VC as well. Make sure it is not burned.
Are you changing the gaskets and harnesses just for grins and giggles? When you were at your buddy's garage, and I assume that he had your truck on a computer of sorts and did the "Buzz Test? Did that test show that you had two (2) dead injectors or did it show that they were not functioning because of a bad harness or plugs, or , or, or,????
I understand that you are going to have the injectors worked over I just don't understand why your changing harnesses and gaskets if they tested good.
The reason i am changing the gaskets is because they have never been changed and not to mention it will give me peace of mind i guess for the most part. NEVER for kicks and giggles man im a college student and money dont grow on trees.

I am in the same boat...going to be getting new injectors here in the next few days too (I think mine are leaking) and with paying for college, diesel and food the budget gets stretched pretty thin.
You won't need much except for hand tools to pull them, but I would have oil and filter on hand for a change after you put the new ones in. You'll also want some spare oil for refilling your HPOP and heads and for dunking the new injectors before you put them in. I'd get a set of glow plugs too since you need to pull them anyway to blow the cylinders clean after the injector install. If you don't have one, pick up a 10mm deep socket for the glow plugs. Rocker clearance is very tight on those, 1/4" drive is recommended but I got by with 3/8 on mine.
