Been looking on the internet triing to get information for my 66 custom cab. Does anyone else have any ideas where to get the codes to the door data plates.
Don't have the stuff for the ranchero yet. the numbers on the truck are:
129 jm f100 e81 g 17
05000 172 @ 4000 74
Understand some of it but not all of it.
129 = 129" Wheelbase
JM: J = Rangoon Red / M = Wimbledon White
F100 = F100 2WD / 5,000 lbs. GVWR
E81: E = Red Crush Vinyl & Red Cody Pattern Woven Plastic / 81 = 81B Custom Cab
G = MX Cruise-O-Matic
17 = Ford 9" / 3.25-1 / non Limited Slip / 3300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity
05000 = 5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
172 HP @ 4,000 RPM
74 = Seattle WA Ford District Sales Zone, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
do you have the VIN figured out on it already as ND or others, myself included can decode it for ya...
Always great to see another truck from PNW surviving our wonderful weather
71 = SoCal District Sales Zone Office (located at that time in Pico Rivera), where the original selling dealer ordered the vehicle from.
1 = Ford 8" / 3.00-1 / non Limited Slip **
W = C4 Cruise-O-Matic
----------------------
** An 8" rear axle is the little brother to the 9" rear axle. Both look identical.

btw: The 5th digit of your 1966 F100's VIN was missing as cs65 pointed out.
That will be the letter for whatever the assembly plant was, that your truck was built at.
