I'm putting power steering on my truck. I need to know if a 302 power steering pump bracket is the same as a 351W bracket? the motor is out of a 78-79 Mercury car. Also some pics of the bracket would help. Thanks
Here's my 2 cents, I'm going to say the brackets are similar, but I bet they are not identical.
I'm trying to install PS on our Ranger, I sourced all the parts fom a Mustang, and you would think they would fit, but no, there's not enough clearance between the pump and PS box on the truck. Same motors in both vehicles BTW.
I also bolted all the 302 serpentine brackets on my 5.8 when I swapped them, but somehow I ended up with a belt misallignment between the crank pulley and the accessories. The solution was to go get the accessory brackets for the 5.8 truck motor, and then everything lined up beautifully.

The Merc bracket will be the same as a Ford bracket, but which Merc year & model engine is it?
Some 1978's use two brackets, some only have one. With two brackets, the P/S pump adjusting bracket is the same 302/351W, the mounting bracket isn't the same.
Some 1979's also use two brackets, some use one. The same rules apply here, too.
