In preparation of having the new front end mounted, I am in the process of mounting up the power steering pump. So off to the local U-Pull-It. I know I have a 351W but the exact year is a mystery since the manifold has been changed and I did not see the code on the block so I sort of shooting in the dark.
But what I did find was a pump system from a '79 F-250 with 302.
The bracket that mounts to the water pump (pn E2BC-3C511-AA) fits well but is a bit short at the top. If the bracket was 2" longer, I think the pump would mount up the the head. The cast aluminum bracket that the pump is mounted in looks right. So has anybody put PS on a 351W that can direct me in the right direction as to what brackets I might need?

Update. While sitting around twiddling my thumbs, I decided to see how good (or bad) the pump would fit if I had the correct bracket. So I tried to mount the pump to the block but it won't fit. It hits the inner fender. So I need a thinner pump that will fit in front of the head rather than beside it like the one pictured as well as brackets. HELP!
The engine code on the 351w is above the starter and under the lip of the block if you are looking for it. The number will start with a letter,...C for 1960's, D for 1970's and so on. The number following that would be the year. The pump you describe is probably from the 80's. I fabricated my own brackets for my 351 w but I using the Saginaw pump. Here's a couple pictures if your interested.

Reason: I keep on adding info....
Thanks Earl. Your photo confirms my suspicions that the Saginaw pump is a must for the 351 to keep in in front of the engine. Off to the U-Pull-It for another try.

The bracket that mounts to the water pump (ID Engineering Number:E2BC-3C511-AA= Ford part number:E2BZ-3C511-A) fits well but is a bit short at the top.

No F250 came w/a 302 until 1980.
This C-II P/S pump was introduced in 1978 on everythingexcept Econolines and Passenger Cars with Hydro-Boost (both used the Saginaw P/S pump).
It has a plastic reservoir, the P/S pressure hose connects to the pump w/a qwik connect fitting.

Thanks Bill. You must be psychic. I was going to ask for your help. So just to be clear, I need the E2BZ-3C511-A bracket, with a Saginaw pump right? No Saginaw pump!
I never said a word about using the Saginaw P/S pump.
