Ford Cutting Production
My wife has a LEXUS RX 400h, and that joke gets 30 mpg around town and 25 mpg on a trip. Yeah it is reversed because you don't get the benefit of electricity generation when stopping. If you ever drove a "CLUB CAR" golf cart, it's that fast. Turn on the key, nothing happens. Press the gas peddle and you go. Choose a screen and you can watch what is happening.
No joke my friend. I hope to see what will be available in 10 years.
Did you ever check out how railroad locomotives are powered. Yeah, they are oil burners, that power a generator for electric drive.
I would like to see Ford look in this direction for some of their trucks.
I can remember being in Philadelphia on a sales call years ago. If a native didn't point me in the right direction, I still might be making big circles. Hope this point, helps you.
He says, hybrids are a freakin joke. He is either joking or does not realize the effectiveness of a hybrid vehicle. USA TODAY says the payback on a Prius is down to a year and a half. I honestly think, on our RX 400h, with the Government tax rebate we received, our recovery is much less a year.
And that to TEXAS, ain't no FREAKIN JOKE!
I was just commenting that right now this technology is either in tiny cars, or in something as massive as a 100,000 lb locomotive. I just don't see a 1-ton truck like this any time soon sadly.
