I put a single add-a-leaf in my '99 superduty to level the front. At the time I couldnt decide how to do it, whether or not to order the donahoe racing mini packs, or one of the other kits, but I decided on the add a leaf because it was cheaper. now I regret it. It still needs to come up an inch or 2. Is there anything I can do to bring it up a little without taking the add a leaf out? I'm afraid the donahoe mini packs will make it too high with the leaf still in there, or may not even work with it. Any ideas?
If anything it will give you a little more caster, which should help straight ahead steering feel and return to center. It can and probably will change the pinion angle, but not enough to worry about. Most guys I know that run them haven't had any problems with the change in angle.
I just installed the shackels from ebay on my 04. The ride seems the same. Pinion angel is good. It took about 3 hours to install. I probably could have cut that time in half with the help of a buddy. I had to install mine myself. I paid around $60 for the shackels.

I would take the add a leaf off and install the mini pack. Ride is un-changed and your shocks don't need to be replaced as the pack goes under the shock mount. You can take out a leaf or two on the mini packs if you so wish too!
I also did the same thing as you.
I went with the cheap add-a-leaf and that was a teribble mistake.
You really need to take the add-a-leaf OUT. I took the add-a-leaf out then did the longer shackles that you can get off e-bay. The truck rides great now. of course I also have Bilstien 5100 shocks too.
I got the shackles that were supposed to raise the truck 1 1/2" but it raised it about 2 1/2" I have a 5.4L and I see you have a 7.3 so your front end in much heavier.
Do you have the rear lifted at all???
No, You already have shackels on you truck, you are just taking the old ones out and putting in a little longer ones. I noticed no bouncing.
We are talking about the rear of the front spring. The shackle is what holds the spring to the frame. Remember we are only talking about trucks that have front leaf springs 04 and older. 05 and newer have coils in the front.
