Helping with a 97 that is having a hard start problem. This will come and go. Sometimes for days it will be fine, then out of the blue it will need to be cranked extendedly for it to start. The ICP when it isn't starting is in the 300psi range, so it is certainly an oil issue. I've checked the basics, oil, level, leaks, cleaned the ipr. Haven't deadheaded the lines yet and checked bank to bank since it's hard to isolate when it happens but that is probably the next step.
The ICP has been low on this truck for a while, and I think it just needs a new HPOP it's got 215k on it. Yet, I haven't seen one act intermittently like this. It's got Baby Swamp injectors (150/146 iirc).
Also I bought a pump from e-bay for $350 just have to watch for them to come up. International can get the pump for cheap also but they have a high core charge but that shouldn't affect you.
Yeah, I thought it was draining out too, but it was full. I think one way or the other it needs one, I was only seeing 2400 ICP on it a few months ago. Should be closer to 3000.
Cool, give it a try. We took it out and cleaned it like I noted, but didn't use new o-rings since we didn't have them handy. Definitely the cheap things first. Are the o-ring kits I see on ebay any good?
