so im guess since the title is 75-79 and you say its a F350 its either 2wd or 4x4 with a D60, if its 4x4 then why not build something thats already set up for and ifs system considering that seems to be the norm for those prerunner/baja racing type trucks

cuz they looks sweet jumping at the dunes and in races. I'd do it if i had a 2wd. The I beams are cake to make long travel.

I've seen a few that race but nothing for sure, i think off-road magazine has covered a few.

I hope its a 2wd because if its not, what a waste.

x2 if its 2wd thatd be kinda cool, but if its 4x4 with that D60 then sell the truck to someone who can make use of those beef axles and buy something else

Well, obviously waiting for more info, but if you're looking to do a 4wd this way you'll want a ttb truck...

id rather have the ifs on a 97-03 or the even newer truck for a baja type truck then a ttb, just my .02 on that, ive seen a couple 97-03 trucks that were build as baja style trucks, pretty badarse in my opinion and i know a few companies make good long travel kits for it

They're good trucks, but an i beam(or j arm) setup gets way more travel, and its way easier to do.

its a 1979 f350 camper special with a long bed of course, not a waste to use an f350 the i beams, frame, rear end, everything is stronger than lets say an f100. O, and its 2wd. yea i am planning on using the wheel travel kit from autofab for the front along with the fiberglass fenders and 2in drop hood. keeping the dana 70 rear, not sure if i will do a chevy leaf swamp or build a 6 link rear end like i did with my last truck. i did have a 73 f100 i did this with but ended up switching everything over to 1 ton, so why not start with a 1 ton,it was 4wd though. o and i am going to shorten the frame 2 feet and make my own bedsides out of fiberglass, so i can have a short bed.prolly put 2 driver side ranger seats in (comfortable and cheap), take all the windows out, do the sheet metel like trophy trucks or jeep speed jeeps. just trying to get some pics to see if i can take other ideas and make them more my style. shooting for the look autofab did with there 1979 f150 pre runner.

quadzjr dude, i understand what ur getting at cause a f350 is a perfect heavy tow truck, but i just bought a 2004 hemi dodge ram 1500 so i dont need a tow vehicle, so why not turn it in to a complete off road truck where i dont have to deal with that smog bull **** or insurance or paying for registration **** every year. i have a bad *** ranger witch i use for dd and off roading but its a 99 so i would have to spend 4500 just for the front suspension kit to get the travel out of it that i can get out of my i beam front end. also getting tired of braking it, just not strong like my old truck.
