I have a rebuilt Chrysler 440 I'm dropping in my old a$$ 25' Luhrs. Anyways, with the plugs in, it won't turn over- with new/rebuilt starter. I take the plugs out, and it turns almost fast enough to start it if the plugs where in. I put one plug in, and it stops for about 2-3 seconds till the starter can overcome the compression.
I have 2 #4 cables going from the solenoid to the starter, and I even doubled up on the jumper cables from my truck battery to the solenoid. So I don't know if the (a) the starter is wimpy (b) the jumper cable contacts suck, or (b) is it possible for it to be a 24v starter??
