There will be a 6 speed tranny coming out for the SuperDuties soon, I think either '09 or '10.

The TorqShift is already a 6-speed.
It just decides not to use one or the other

Wonder if the "NEW" 6spd
oops 7spd will do the same...and think on its own...or be a TRUE 6spd? Guess we just have to wait on that one...

The new 6 speed for the Superduty will have 6 useable ratios, or as you call it, a TRUE 6 speed. It will not have 7 ratios.

Is it "just" a TS with a different ratio set?

They need to have a 6-speed tranny that has 4 'regular' gears, 5th is the 1st OD, and 6th is the 2nd OD. My 99 has the 4R100 and if I had a double overdrive behind that, I could run 4.10s, pull heavier loads, AND get better mileage on the highway due to lower RPMs!!! They'll never do it though - the oil companies will axe-murder the engineer first.
