btw: I see Jacaranda trees in the background, you don't want those flowers on your paint job very long.
You must be talking about my sig pic. Good eye. Whittier has lots of jac trees as you know, but fortunately they are not in my yard, or my neighboring yards. I love looking at them in bloom. I also love turning the wood when they come down. But it's easy to love them when someone else is doing the cleanup.
Maxwell House parachute = I gotta ask.........What in the world?
I figured someone would ask...
Maxwell House parachute - "good to the last drop" -W C Fields
------------------------------------------------------------
Maxwell House coffee..."Good to the last drop."
What well known famous person came up with that tag line?
Hint: he died in 1919. He was famous for using the expression "Bully!"

I had those trees at my house in West LA...they are beautiful in bloom, but the paint job on my LTD sure didn't like them.
I had to have the hood repainted because of those &*%^ flowers.
No Jacaranda trees in Hacienda Heights...at least not in this area.

As a sickly 7 year old, he watched Pres. Lincoln's funeral procession through the window of his family's New York City home.
He lived as full and rewarding a life as anyone could ever hope to in twice as many years.

Haven't read that one yet, but I think it was written by Edmund Morris - he wrote a biography of President Reagan also, i believe. Roosevelt "minor" - H.L. Mencken's term for FDR.
He didn't care for Franklin too much.
FDR didn't care for him either.
I've always felt that FDR was the best possible man for the times.
FDR in today's world, doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
