oh yeah, the first week of june im going down into mexico, and im sure that there will be bi-tri monthly trips to the desert this summer! specially once i get my bike workin!
You're a lucky dog Bill. Haven't seen a pig on our place, within shooting distance, since 2000. Best of luck to ya! Where's the website of yours??
The Fam and I will be in Paso the 17th for the wine festival deal.
We may go to Cal City for Memorial Day weekend... dunno yet, depends on the weather! If it's too hot then it's pool and BBQ time at home.
We'll be there the 16th to the 18th. I knew they had a wine festival thing, but did not know it was that weekend. We won't have time to get to town anyway.
What's in California City? I haven't been there since, oh, maybe the 70's when they were trying to sell land. Grabbed some free stuff in exchange for listening to their sales schpiel.
For those who like big game hunting, you are really missing out on a good thing if you are not pig hunting. For $5-600 you can buy a private land hunt and expect 80-100% success averages. The meat is delicious. The wife and I can only get through one good sized pig per year, or I would go more often.
well cal city pretty much hasnt changed at all, they are still trying to sell land, but there is a OHV area just uh...south? of it that is pretty expansive and open with some big ol mines, abandonded military buildings, its really pretty interesting, but cal city is still the middle of nowhere, and im down for the pig hunt too!
Oh I'd love to hunt pig where I could actually track and find some. They are tasty, no doubt! Sure are tough to gut and skin though, compared to Columbian Blacktail deer.
When I go to Cal City we camp off of Cadillac Road. Usually near Rowend or Fairlane Drive.\
Hey Bill, I was just checking out your web page. Very nice! I love the hunt pics. I noticed on the 2007 hunt at Jack Ranch you mentioned guide Marc Tognazini. Is either Marc or his father/brother a DFG Officer? I met Officer Tognazini at the Paso Walmart a couple of years ago. He was very nice and informative, we had a good conversation about hunting out Adelaide, West of Paso Robles.
