I've been upset with the Tejon folks since they were on board with the lead hunting bullet ban. I find that irritating and yes, they're quite pricey on their hunting packages.
I noticed on the 2007 hunt at Jack Ranch you mentioned guide Marc Tognazini. Is either Marc or his father/brother a DFG Officer? I met Officer Tognazini at the Paso Walmart a couple of years ago. He was very nice and informative, we had a good conversation about hunting out Adelaide, West of Paso Robles.
It's not Marc. He practically lives in a trailer on the Jack Ranch. The hunts there are more than a full time job. I don't think it's his father, because his parents run a fishing business and restaraunt in the bay area. But his family is local so it could be a relative.

It looks like about as good a set-up as you could hope for.
The web site for the operation is pig-hunt.com
I've hunted the Work Ranch several times. Just once on the Jack Ranch. The main difference is that the Work Ranch has a nice bunkhouse and they feed you family style in their home, but the property is smaller (still big). The Jack Ranch is bigger, probably a little better hunting, but food is on your own. There is a mobile home to sleep in, but it's a little scary - not well kept. Other minor differences in the arrangement, but you cannot go wrong either way. If we go to the Jack again, we'll pull RV's to avoid sleeping in that mobile home.
Tejon is a beautiful place. The hunts are pricey, although they were not as bad when we went. The best thing to do at Tejon is the Pig Management hunts. It's non-guided, but you have the run of the place on your own. Just spending a weekend exploring the ranch would be worth the price of admission. I have not done the PM hunt yet, but would like to. I don't remember if the Tejon hunt is on my web site because I did not get a pig that time. We were 2 for 3 on that hunt.
I've also hunted the Dye Creek Ranch near Redding several times. And I've hunted around Paso with Eldon Bergman back in the 80's. Not sure what ranches because he would shop around and didn't have a permanent area. Eldon is kind of the grandfather of So Cal pig hunting and got me started with it.
