Yeah, I get something like a 0603 or something like that. Just a low imput and it is a soft code. I don't worry about it and it don't trip the SES light.
The relay that wire comes off of is not you GP relay. It is the AIH relay, the GP relay is the larger one beside it. That is a big wire and should be hard to break. I would remove it for now. There should be two wires on the stud. A hot wire and a ground, both on the same stud with a ceramic washer between them.
I know there's a couple of other states that require the CA trucks now, but I don't know if they did back then, and I don't remember which states they were (except for up North somewhere). If you have a CEL you have a code. The cheap scanners won't read the codes in these trucks. I'm not sure why the diesel mechanic didn't find a code with his scanner, but you do need to find out what code is tripping your light. I'm assuming the dealer did clear the code after the CPS?

Well i was coming home from work thinking what could be wrong and looked down and the light was off the truck was running a good as ever then it flashed on and off a few times and whent off and stayed off mabey the dealer was right and it was the oil was just to wore out ive never heard of something like i guess it took a little running to tell it was new oil i want to thank you guys for all the help use are the greatest
