Spare PCM - anyone?
I'm still struggling with my truck...poor performance (like 6-7 cylinders), no power, poor idle etc. Have been through injectors, more injectors, wiring harnesses, glow plugs and the IDM. No change. I have no smoke of any kind and good compression. Before I give up and trade, burn or otherwise replace the truck/motor I want to try another PCM just to see if it could be the problem. I don't want to pay $1,000 to the dealer or $300 on Ebay just to give it a 5 minute try.
So...does anyone on FTE have a PCM that could be tested on my 2001 F-250? I'm not sure it would have to be from a 2001 and I'm not sure I care if it is a 'perfect' PCM...just a different one that might produce different results. If my truck acts immediately different....I'd know I need to buy a new PCM and would GLADLY do so at this point. But I'm tired of throwing money at it without knowing. I have a great looking and otherwise great truck...with a poor running engine.
