in KY you dont have to be listed as a driver to be covered. i bought my truck with my money, but put it in my parents name (obviously). i am only a driver on my dads 1987 f-150 with liability. my parents are the only listed drivers on the account, making fulll coverage $300/6 mos. i got it lucky there. this was all donr on the advice of our agent.

When I turned 16, grant it was in the '80's, our insurance agent said as long as the car was covered then any driver driving it would be covered. So I didn't get my own insurance till I moved out. Our agent told us that they were not supposed to tell us that but he was an honest person and didn't have the heart to overcharge us for no reason.
