High Idle Mod Question

I have a 2003 F250 7.3L. I would like to do the high idle mod to it but have searched the website and found nothing so far. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Ok, I will give you the heads up on this one. Get a DP-TUNER and have Jody put the high idle on any number you want. jk not really but you will find out soon enough.

You have been a member sense 2004 and this is your 9th post? Where have you been?

Rookies. Get married to the company, by all means. Have a mistress or two on the side.

Get DP tuner F5 chip. Dp Tuner. He will put a stock tune in #1 and high idle in #2 and so on. Question, why do you want a high idle?

I have it -- it's nice when you need to run high-current accessories or keep the AC ice cold in hot summers.... Works great!!!

I also use mine while giving someone a jump start, instead of holding down the go pedal.

Heres a link for a DIY. Its in there in the electrical.Tips - Idea - Hints This one is for the OBS trucks so I'm not sure if it works on the newer ones. I had seen another right up else where but dont remember where. Also there is a site that sells a plug and play deal that goes in the harness for the go pedal. Dfuser sales a AIC. I'd just save my money and go for the DP but its all in what you want. Hope this helps!

I own towing & recovery companies and my trucks need to idle fast for the jump starts that they do, extended idling, as well as keeping the A/C cold on those hot days down here in the south. I personally drive an 06 F-250 with the 6.0 PSD. The high idle mod for this truck was SIMPLE. I was hoping for the same type simple deal on my 7.3 but it's looking grim..

Is that all the high idle mod is for? I thought you got a power increase some how. Well coolder A/C is always a good thing.

Yes, you do get a power increase -- out of the alternator. At 700 rpm, the alternator output is low. Bump it to 1200 and it's nearly full output.
