'51 Progress!!
Roger,
Seems like you got the pitman off alright before I could reply. The problem I had with the regular pitman arms was that the 'arms' of the puller wouldn't fit between the pitman arm and the frame. the 3 jaw puller I picked up had skinnier hooks on it, so it only took about a minute.

I'd appreciate that. Learning to post on this site ( I only said post, I suck at searching!) is about as good with computers as I get.
Great deals on your boxes. I won't make you feel bad by telling you what I paid for my vidmar and the other three tool carts. LOL

Here's the Radio Shack units - the first is four units bolted to the wall. The broom will give you an idea of size. The 2nd, you can see it in the background with the colored labels. That one is two units tall, back to back on wheels. Nice, when tearing apart the truck!! There's also a brown one, behind the (messy!) welding table, with very short drawers, which is great for tool manuals and sand paper, etc. As you can see, almost everything I have is on wheels! And if it doesn't when I get it, it does very shortly after...

Oh yeah, the progress today...as I mentioned, the wife is allowing me to tear down the truck. Of course, before she changed her mind, I did it!! Of course, no one came over to help, so I had my wife and her girlfriend (her hubby was in bed) help me get the bed and cab off. Here's some pics:

pretty happy with the progress, so far...

Your truck is in great shape. If I tried to stand my bed on end like that it would crumble into a million pieces. All three sides are pretty much shot from where the wood meets it, down. I can't wait to work on the end cap also. That's gonna suck. I've got to take some new pictures now. Those cabinets are worth every dime. I found two old file cabinets that I keep my power tools in. Even still had the keys with them. My newest toy is an old generator chassis that my cab is sitting on now. Makes a great trailer for the yard.
Roger, I am not a good computer person however when I clicked on the link to view your new shop pics I got a virus warning. I immediately shutdown and did a virus scan on my computer. I do not know for sure if it was a problem with the link that you provided or not.
2nd attempt - my shop
I am a pretty good computer person, and I'm stumped as to why it would happen, unless my service provider itself, has something going on. A webpage can only broadcast what's on the page. And there's nothing on mine that can do that. It's definitely NOT a virus, it's a popup ad. The way to tell, is if it were a virus, YOUR anti-virus would have come up and said it was. I'm sure that wasn't the case. That's why your scan didn't find anything. If you had clicked on the box, it would have taken you to a different site, telling you that you HAD to buy their product to get rid of it. Unfortunately, when you click on the link again, it doesn't come up. I'll call my IT guy at the provider, and see if it's something on their end...

I was going to just throw the motor in, when I decided to rebuilt the tranny. When that was done it looked so good, I had to paint the motor (it has about 5 hours on it since rebuilt, but was sitting in a humid garage, under a tarp, under a roof leak and had some rust showing). Then, when the motor was done, I HAD to rust-proof the frame. That's when mama said I could go ahead, and tear it the rest of the way down. Soooo, that's what I did! Sandlblasting the frame will be a LOT easier than wire-wheeling the whole thing. Plus, all the previous owner's had their shot at making life miserable for me - like the front clip being thrown together with 3 inch carriage bolts, the 8 inch carriage bolts holding the bed on, etc, etc. It should be pretty nice when I get it done...
