my left turn signal keeps sticking on and not blinking... so i picked up a flasher relay but going thru the manual i cant find anything that looks like what i want.... are they somewhere else not in the fusebox? it doesnt look like any of the ones in either box.... similar, but different.
Its probably your multifunction switch. Its in the steering column. Its the switch that operates your blinkers , wipers & headlight bright & dim control. Mine did about what yours is doing when it went out. One blinker quit working right in my truck & was acting like yours.
I don't own a 2003 but I think you'll find your turn signal flasher behind the radio. And it is possible that lariet97 is correct, the multi function switches do some weird stuff...have you tried wiggling the stalk while the problem is occurring?
The Indicator Flasher Relay is in Auxiliary Relay Box 4 located in behind the glove box near the center of the dash. There are two relays in this box, the IF relay and the blower motor relay.
BTW, I tend to agree that the problem is more likely in the MFS or associated wiring as jimm66 said. Tilt the wheel down and see if the signal starts working again. Good luck!
I've heard of the contacts coming loose but I forgot to put it in my first post. It was the switch on my truck. I tried all the ideas mentioned but I had to replace the MFS. Its not a hard job to change it.
so... what exactly is the MFS the entire module that the turnsignal lever goes into? i tore it all appart and checked as many connections as i could....i didnt pull t he radio out to get at the relay box back there.. due to the fact i wired in a crap load of crap in there already and i wasnt in the moood to tackle that situation of getting it all back in there today...haha
strangest thing....ii can say im 90% positive that when i ran the lever up and down to make it manually flash on the left side (because it stays on) my right rear was flashing with the left front... and the left rear wasnt doing anything now.... i ha ve tubular chrome taillight guards so i could sit in the truck and watch the glow on the chrome guards in the mirrors...... anything sound familar? i was like wtf!?
