? for chainsaw gurus.

I have an older Craftsman chainsaw that I broke the drive gear on a while back and have bought the new gear for it now. My question is if it is pressed onto the shaft or what? I says nothing in the owners manual and I don't want to screw up anything without asking first. It is a 40CC 18" bar if anyone needs an idea what model (358 series) it is.

I'm not sure on the older craftsman ones but a lot of them are just free floating behind the clutch-hope this helps

Go here to find out where on your saw the model number is:

Help finding your model number | SearsPartsDirect.com from Sears

Then type the model number in to see an explode view of your saw. Maybe that will help you determine how it is attached.
Some of them are threaded on the shaft with left-hand threads (turn cw to loosen)
