Question Chain saw question?

Any one here ever heard of a Pioneer chain saw?? I just got it from my Grandfather when we were cleaning out his shed. It still has the owners manual and spare chains etc......I was just wondering if it is a good saw(I have a few Echos and love em') It is model number P-28 and it was made in 1980 I think it is Canadian. Any info would be great. Thanks guys

Chain saw question?

They are a decent saw. Although they don't compare to the stuff out today. We used to use one quite a bit back in the mid '70's, it was the biggest saw we had and we used it until it was wore out. By then that was around '85

Chain saw question?

My dad had one. Not sure what size or model it was, but it had less power and weighed more than my Stihl 026 Pro. It took a 16:1 mix and had a manual bar oiler thumb pump. The best thing about it is that instead of having a choke, it had a primer pump. No matter how many months or even years it would sit; if you put fresh gas in it, it would start on the first pull cold. I can't say that for any other saw I operated.
