Hey guys has anyone ever removed the headliner of a 2000 expedition?
I would like to remove the rear "above the 3rd row seat" headliner and install an CB antenna mount on the roof.
Thanks ~Gage~
I had mine down in my 99 right after I bought it because the wiper washer hose for the rear had come undone. IIRC it's pretty easy, just taking off the trim around the edges and pull gently to get the clips to pop out. I didn't take mine all the way out, but just pulled it down far enough that I could get in there and hook the hose up.
Thanks for the reply. I got out my magnifying glass and a flashlight and went looking for the mounting screws.
Looks like my 2003 EB may be a bit different. I'd already got as far as popping the trim flap open when I last posted, but there's no sign of a screw behind the flap.
It turns out that there are a pair of spring loaded clips that hold the back of the hook in place. Gently prying from the center back of the hole up and down with a small flat blade screwdriver releases the clips and lets the hook pull free.
It's not hard to do, but I sure see why there have been questions about it here. Until you see the thing disassembled it's not obvious how it works.
I'll take some pictures and see if I can figure out how to post them later. Maybe that'll help out the next person who runs into this.
