Anyone replace their old coil packs with the accel ones. Supposedly give 10% -15% more juice in the ignition. But I wonder about durability. About $50 less per pack than ford OEM from dealer.

I'm going to give them a try. I'll keep the new one that I have from the dealer as a spare. If they fail too quickly, I'll make them give me my money back.
I put a set of them in my v10 van. Have aboout 2k miles on them soo far and no problems. I did notice a nice difference in the mid range, plus engines feels a like it has a little more snap all around. got them from Jegs, I think it was under $300 for all of them shipped.
MSD is also making a coil over pack. So far, it's main application is '05-'07 single overhead cam 4.6 engines. I think that is the 3 valve engine, but not sure. I've been trying to confirm if they will be compatible with a yr 2000 v10.
I'm not sure if they helped w/ mpg. I use my van mostly to tow my racecar so any info I would have is with about 5k lbs. in tow. Even when I am not towing with it I really don't keep track of mpg, I have a heavy right foot and also don't really wanna think about how bad the mpg is.
Accel, Granatelli Motor Sports, and MSD are all making performance coil packs for the modular engines. Accel, Grantelli and almost every other mfg of coil packs indicate interchangeability between 4.6 and 5.4 and the v10. The MSD was designed with the mustang 4.6 in mind, by there seems to be no reason it won't be applicable for the v10. Their tech says that if the v10 coil pack has the same part number as the 4.6, then all is good to go. MSD is making different ones for the '99-'04 vs the '05-'08 3 valvelrs.
I think I'll do a little more research on that issue and then go with either the Granatelli or MSD. I've heard of a few failures of the Accel ones.
