4.6 coil pack suggestions

looking at preventative maintenance on my truck and wanted to get suggestions for replacement coil packs?

Sure they have cheap units for sale on ebay but I really don't think I want to give them a shot.

Accel's look okay but a bit pricey...of course the price is not too much of an object if they last like the factory units.

thanks in advance for any advice.

Leave them alone unless you have a misfire issue or a studder in over drive.
There is no assurance you will benefit from replacements.
The ACCELS are among the worst you can get no matter the price.
Good luck.

Why not just stick with Motorcrafts?

noticed they had them at Rock Auto for a decent price...the motorcraft units

and I am coil-pack shy? had a few coil packs fail and cause the pcm on our 2005 Ford Escape 3.0 fail...on the freeway...needless to say THAT was a sobering experience lol

That was a known unique issue with the 05 3L used in the Escape, it doesn't transfer to your 4.6L.

Generally, PM for a modular motor would be new spark plugs and new coils/boots, not complete COPS.

If you decide on new coils, check Amazon. When I got 8 new Motorcrafts for my 5.4 I found the best deal there.
