I have a 2004 Ex and the doors auto lock every time the truck goes down the road. That feature is not necessarily a problem but when I stop and turn the truck off only the front doors are unlocked. The 2 rear doors and the back door remain locked and it is a pure pain in the ***.
The Ford manual doesn't even mention this function. Can it be over ridden so all doors are open when the ignition is turned off?
Maybe someday I will learn to unlock the doors before I am halfway to the rear of the truck. But it would be much nicer if they just unlocked as automatically as the lock.
Mine had a procedure in the manual using the keyless entry pad. Look there if you have that option.
Yes the keyless pad will open all doors from the outside by hitting the last number of the code a second time. My question is when exiting the truck only the 2 front doors are unlocked when the ignition is turned off. Those in the back seats and the rear trunk door remain locked until I release them with the switch on the arm rest.
I don't have the manual in front of me, so I will have to post later if you can't find it. There is a specific procedure of entering the factory fixed code in the keypad and then holding two other buttons I think until the locks cycled, and then the locks won't lock on their own when put in drive.
