.. the bill was 500 bucks, thank god for the warrenty (50 buck copay)..

question for you guys..
last week i was driving the X with the A/C blowing on the low level.. i pulled up to a red light and out of the blue the A/C blower goes to HIGH.. i go to turn it down and NOTHING.. i tried to turn it off and the blower stays on..
i had to pull the fuse to shut everything down.. i went to a auto store and purchased a new relay, and that didn't work..
what do you guys think it is, before i head to the dealership.. do you think it's the main board in the a/c controller? it also would not let me control the heat temp.. i could only change the way the air could come out (the different vents).

I haven't had the problem on any of three trucks like this, but based on your description, it sounds like the system has defaulted to max AC. That would explain why you can't control the temp or fan. My guess would be the controller in the dash panel has an internal short.

i got the call from the dealer today.. they stated it was a control box up under the dash.. they had to order it and will install it tomorrow.. i'll get more detail when i get it back.. it was covered under the extend warrenty

.. i'm not that big on extended warrenties but i did it on this truck due to it being a old rental.. i purchase it 1 1/2 years with 20K on the speedo and it has 42K now.. the warrenty is 6 / 75K so i still got a bit to go..
