Ok my 2006 F-250 Superduty is driving me nuts. When I drive the truck it automaticlly locks the doors. when I stop and get out it doesn't unlock them. I go to get in the other doors and they are locked and I have to walk around the truck and unlock them.
Is it possible to change the program so the doors will unlock when I put the truck in park or pull out the key? Maybe my Chevy has spoiled me to this option but I want the doors all unlocked when I get out. Does anyone have any ideas?
I don't think auto unlock is an option. I had the same aggrivation when my truck was new, but I soon got in the habit of pushing the unlock button when I stop.
Deactivating/activating the autolock feature
Before following the procedure, make sure that the ignition is in the 3
(OFF) position and all vehicle doors are closed.
You must complete Steps 1-7 within 30 seconds or the procedure will
have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must
wait 30 seconds.
1. Turn the ignition key to the 4 (ON) position.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from the 4 (ON) to the 3 (OFF) position.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to the 4 (ON) position. The horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will
chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long
chirp) if autolock was activated. Note: Pressing the power door
lock/unlock control again will toggle between activating and deactivating
the autolock feature.
7. Turn the ignition to the 3 (OFF) position. The horn will chirp once to
confirm the procedure is complete.
I also hated this, When I installed my remote starter, I disabled Fords auto lock and enable auto lock & unlock through my remote start. It works very well.
