Cruise control recall again!
I called and talked to my Ford Dealership head mechanic today about my turn signal issue (which I fixed with info on here, not from him) and asked about the recalled and repaired harness they did on my truck, my cruise stopped working and he told me to unhook it again! and there will be letters sent out to redo the repairs, they are going to eliminate the single fuse with two, and the new updated harness will be Grey instead of black!, are they kidding! the letters will be coming out in the next 2 months!

The guy was pretty serious about me unhooking it to, I told him that he did the repair, but it isnt flying I guess, we should be receiving letters soon is what he told me.....who knows?
it is not the first recall on recall I have seen remember the crown vics with the intake cracking they first replaced it with an updated plastic intake then they came out with an alum, front cross over tube to correct the updated plastic one.
I'm taking mine in Monday. I'll let you know if its the single or double fuse harness. If its the single, why would they install it knowing its faulty? I'm expecting the dealership to cancel the appointment once someone familiar with the issue notices what the expy's coming in for.
not sure about other dealers I got the recall new looms 117 of them and every switch in stock to cover all cars and trucks.
I'm ready now, but what a PITA this turned out to be.

Ed,
Do you happen to have the list of switch and harness part numbers by application?
Steve
For my 98 its: 8W7T 14A411 E5595. It has two fuses so I assume its the latest harness. The color of the harness is black.
For those of you that had the original recall harness, did your cruise control go out immediately or was there a delay?
