Took the Exploder to the dealer for a door latch recall. Dropped it off this morning, hopefully it will be done soon. The service guy thought it might be later this afternoon. Anyone take their explorer in for the Latch recall? The letter said in side impact crashes the door could open.
While its getting worked on I mentioned that the A post (passenger side) plastic piece is making noise again and asked if they would replace it. We also experience a rattle in the rear passenger door. I hope my wifes car isn't falling apart.

Is your Explorer back from the dealership now, DeeDubz? If so, how did things go? I'm here if you need any assistance.

I picked it up later that afternoon. Things could have gone better. A few months ago we had to take the wifes care in for a different recall and they ordered the part for the A post... I guess sometime since then the part which was in stock was sent back... so they couldn't fix the A post. That means we have to go back. However they do think they've narrowed the problem down. The Plastic piece at the bottom of the windshield is loose. They need the car back to replace it... Says its going to be a couple of days. We're not happy with the quality of her car. It seems to be something all the time. Either the radio doesn't work, the vehicle makes noise on the freeway, the A post flys off the car.... I guess I'm expecting more for the amount of money we paid for this vehicle. But I guess this is the stuff we get to deal with. Its a pain to take the car to the dealer. That means we're down to one vehicle which is difficult to say the least for two working parents dragging kids around. I've thought about rental cars but its coming out of my pocket.
My wife owned a Lexus IS250 before we purchased the explorer. Every time we took the lexus in they would give us a rental car. Their customer service was far superior than what I've experience with ford. Which is pretty said, With Lexus we paid less a month than we do our explorer. Might be going back to lexus Soon.
I could rant and rant about the only two ford dealers I've been too. Its not going to change anything.
Im going to stop ranting now....
little update, My wife informed me this AM that the airbag light is on... yay so i guess we get to drop her car off sooner than expected. Made an appointment hopefully this is the last time.

When are you having the airbag light checked out, DeeDubz? How many miles are on the Explorer now? I'll be happy to do what I can to help.
