Hello everyone, first I'd like to thank everyone for the help they've given me so far. Unfortunately I have another issue to address. I have the 74 Ford F100 Ranger XLT. It has a 390 V-8 and a 2 Barrell Holley Carburetor. For the last few days, it's been getting harder and harder to start, not it won't start at all without starting fluid.
I've replaced the fuel filter and checked the fuel pump. They are both good. So, out of curiosity, I took the top off of the carburetor and noticed there is the right amount of fuel in the float bowl, but when I pump the throttle linkage, no fuel squirts into the barrels. What can be causing this? Is there a cheap and easy way to fix this? Please reply as soon as possible as I need to repair this to get to and from work. I work on an AFB (Yeah, funny as a former Marine).
I've checked the diaphram and it's good. I replaced the coil about 3 weeks ago and the spark is blue. I tore the carb apart shortly after posting this and cleaned it out. It starts now with little hesitation, now it's just running kind of rough. I think I might need to turn down the fuel/air mixture screws. I KNOW I need to turn down the idle. It's idling at about 1200 RPM.
