I like the .015 silver bearing solder that radio shack carries a little better. Flows very quickly, even with a 15w iron.
I've got several IDM mod pics in my gallery Tim.
When I went to Radio Shack the "Technician" (a real beam of light) stated that .020 was the smallest that they ever carried. After I had done my IDM I was back in Radio Shack and snooping around and low and behold hanging on a peg was a roll of .015. oh well, it worked.

Gotta love it. Those "technicians" are about one notch sharper than the door greeter at wal-mart.
Yeah I am not about to do this mod any different! It is done know but wow that was intense!! Never been so nervous working on my truck. Getting that old resistor out was not an enjoyable experience! The protective coating over the board then with very little to pry on it was difficult. But got it out and put the new resistor in. And the truck runs with it in there. Now I just have to put the cover back on sealed and then i can run it down the road.

1298?
A modded IDM can code 1298 after a buzz test.
Does the old IDM look like the cover was removed? Could be modded.
Bill
Yes sorry 1298- IDM fault. Truck still ran great. Maybe it is modded. Looked original though. I will look at it closer. Didn't code until just a few months ago. It will be my spare behind the seat and the IDM100 is now modded. Then I can give the my dads shop their spare back.
