Lightbulb electronic component identification question

I am putting a 7.3l idi diesel with an e4od from a 92 f250 2wd xlt into my 1977 f250. i was looking for the module that directly controls the trans since the engine is apparently not computer controlled. i cut out the steel black box from behind the glove box, the plastic module thats behind the dash under the steering column, 2 plugs can be reached easily. am i missing something? i dont want to spend $500 on a controller. any help or schematics, let me know. thanks

In the gas trucks the computer is housed in the driver's side kick panel, is there anything in this location? BTW... this computer runs both the engine and tranny in the gas trucks, I have no idea if the same thing is used on the diesel trucks.

Two possibles:

Emission Throttle Position Control Actuator Assy / Marked: D5HF-9F441-AA OR D7HF-9F441-AA.

Intermittant Wiper Governor / If marked, will include Ford basic # 17C476.

Intermittant wipers were an optional accessory back then, so not all trucks will have it.

No airbags or processors (computers) were used in the 1970's.

The black box sounds like the RABS controller. I would check in the normal engine computer location behind the driver side kick panel (accessed from under the hood - you'll have to loosen the fender liner to get it out) for the transmission controller.
