when i install the new system, can i just leave the tubes disconnected where they used to connect to the old manifolds and im planning on doing a 3 inch pipe from the y to a cat to muffler then out the side in front of the right rear tire, maybe dual sides.
but same question goes for the tube that connects to the cat, and im having a hard time finding a high flow for the 460 i need to pass emissions a friend of mine said just leave the air tubes disconnected and use 2 high flow cats for up to 5.9 motors the common ones and it wont have alot of back pressure and i will pass emmissions no problem
Just run true duals and have 2 cats. I got a 5.8 with the air tubes in the manifolds and I removed all of it, all thats left is the air pump as an idler pulley.
does the check engine light come on when you dump the air tubes, and 350 a bought a kit that comes with all piping to the y pipe, i thought about true duals not 100% sure why i didnt go with it
does the check engine light come on when you dump the air tubes,
No, just make sure you cap any vacuum lines in the system and any other places the air tubes connect to the motor. In other words don't just disconnect 1 end and let it hang, remove it all and plug all the holes.
In a perfect world since his vehicle is computer controlled it should NOT be running rich except for the few moments before it completely warms up to temp. But this isn't a oerfect world and parts get worn out...good call stromni.
capn, shoot Bear River Converters an email, or PM..He answers fast, and he told me he could set me up for my 460 pretty reasonable.. I'm just waiting on the time and extra cash to get a Banks setup for mine, then I'll order my cat from him, and do it all at once.
I haven't gotten a chance to pull them yet....I'm gonna get with my buddy who has a plug in reader real soon though...truck did not throw codes till i eliminated everything.
How did u do ur egr? Maybe its the valve, as I get no codes and all of mine is gone, i left the egr and just capped the pipe that goes 2 it. So all it does is open and close.
