I want to put in a Cut out and run one side to the stock muffler, for when i need it "quieter" and the cut out end to a Flowmaster 40. Is there any way to get the exhaust to switch from the stocker to the flowmaster? The electric cut outs are way to much.
If i get the Mr. Gasket cable cutout, its only a 2", will this hurt it if i run this?
You NEED a 3" cutout, 2" or 2.5" will be a major restriction point and kill power. Honestly I would throw on an FM50 SUV muffler with the stock tubing and exit location sound will be in between the FM40 and stock muffler.
Doing all that work will add a lot of weight, and probably wont be to cheap.
I agree with DFK either a 50 or 70 and you will be fine.
Beside what are you planning on, picking up your date with the loud exhaust and then quietly rolling back to her house to drop her off at the wee hours of the morning with the factory exhaust?
i guess what i really want is a muffler that sounds nice and deep at idle, but when you get on it is loud, and with no drone in the cab. Will the FM 40 or FM 50 do this if running through all stock piping?
I've got a 50HD on mine, it drones a little when I rolling down the road at 55 in OD (right around 1500 rpm). Other than that, it's not much louder than stock with all the windows up.

An FM40 will give you drone and smaller case FM50s might as well. The 50 HD muffler is louder than the FM50 SUV and doesn't have the larger anti-drone chambers the 50 SUV has.
yes that is exactly what im looking for. My problem is the o2 sensor is right there. could i take it out and drill a new hole for it in the cutout, and put it back in?
You can do that, I would put it like 6" back from the cut out, that way when you run it open, it can compensate for the difference in back pressure at Ideal
