Do it and don't look back. The doors didn't change mechanically or structurally from '80-'96/7, so I'm not sure why the handles got flimsier. Before I gave up on plastic handles, I'd done new striker bushings, hinges(pins would suffice, but I had the hinges, so...), and took some care in aligning the door and spraying everything down with a healthy amount of lube.

i told my truck how much i hated it....... and now im thinking about putting a 400 small block in it with a 700r4 transmission
