anyone get a letter about the cam position sensor recall?
had mine done last week. problem is, when i got my truck back, the glow plug relay was burned out?
the cps is on the front of the engine and the relay is by the fuel filter. how can you burn out a relay by repacing the cps?
any thoughts would be appreciated.
BTW...... the dealer wanted $136 for the part and $100 labor to replace the relay. (LMFAO when they told me that) i got a new one from NAPA for $29.32 and replaced it in under a half hour.
I just got a recall letter also. I have decided to pass on having it done. I could ask about the new CPS and if anyone thinks its better or worse of the same...
Hey, if it's a better CPS, or the same, why not let em put the new one in, and keep the old one for a back up spare? I think that's what I'll do, now if I could just find that letter..........

Hopefully, to answer both of these questions - 1969fordguy, yes these letters have been filtering around for awhile. I had my old CPS replaced with the new one (after I bought two new one's to keep in the glovebox) and am quite happy with it. No engine stalling since it was installed.
thewellman - when Ford replaces the your old CPS with the new one, they have to send back the old to show they complied with the recall requirements for your vehicle. Have Ford replace your old CPS under the recall and buy a new one (they're around $25) for a spare.
