Have you verified these conditions yourself? I took my truck in a while back to let the Ford tech chase an electrical gremlin (which he figured out in 30 min. ), but my initial estimate from the friendly service advisor came back somewhere around $1,500.00. None of the other items they suggested needed to be done, so I declined their service on those. Most of my items were simple maintenance type things that had already been done. They came up with my estimate based on my odometer reading, but you get the idea.

Chris's experience at the dealership is pretty common. And if you don't know how they work to get work, they will make good money.

Rick, good to hear from you. I liked Chris's reference to "rust".... Did you have to rebuild much or just repair?
