A PS to the above is my own personal opinion and an entire semester spent in SUCKERS 101 at the School of Hard Knocks, is that some slick talking salesman was involved in getting these filter minders installed on our's and many other diesel vehicles around the world. The very best filter minder of all is a visual inspection now and then, or in the case of the 6637 a shop light inside which was so perfectly displayed here in the last month or so.
Are you going to trust it? Something as simple as looking at your air filter, you're going to occasionally open your hood, look at that stupid gauge and say "I must be all set for another 10,000 miles because this spectacular little gauge has not done anything". I have a filter very similiar to the 6637 on my Cat 3208, except for the fact that it is about 4 times larger. I have owned this motor home since new, 21 years. It has a filter minder just like what Ford uses, and you know what? It has not moved one iota in 21 years. That is longer that a whole lot of members here have even been alive.
Yes I trust it, I have checked it against my magnehelic vacuum gauge and believe it to be reasonably accurate. You can't look at the powercore filter media and tell anything about it because it traps dirt inside the filter. I also doubt anyone's ability to look at a pleated paper filter and tell anything about it's ability to pass air based on color.
Practically all modern farm equipment run filterminders and they seem to function well in those applications. Their value may be questionable in engines that spent most of their time on pavement because they can typically run an air filter for a very long time, but in dusty environments I believe them to be very useful.

I suppose all I can say to this is, enjoy it. If you want a like new spare one, pm me with your addy and I will even pay the postage.
filter minders do work and are great little gadgets for what they are designed for,to tell you there is a vacuum formed in the intake tube
all they are actually is a vacuum guage with memory
to my theory they are better at home on construction, earthmoving and farm machinery than on road vehicles that have a better PM schedule
I have been around them and used them for a lot of years and have found them pretty accurate
